The Department of Media and Communication recently held an awareness titled 'Together to Save Energy' in Al-Muftaha Cultural Village in cooperation with nearly 300 residents.

The campaign is a graduation project delivered by a group of female students for the 1439-40 academic year under the supervision of Department Supervisor, Nora Amer, Dr. Ali Zuheer Al-Qahtani, and Dr. Nuha Jagfar.

The energy-awareness campaign aims to reduce the amount of wasted energy as well as increase societal awareness. Organizers of the campaign noted that bringing about a change in behavior is related to positive reinforcement of techniques. Some of those techniques include turning off appliances that are left on, such as:

  • Chargers;
  • TVs;
  • Home Appliances;
  • Computer Monitors;
  • Tablets;
  • Other Portable Devices;
  • Photocopiers.

Of noteworthy mention, the campaign included a video that explained the initial steps to saving energy, infographic brochures, and gifts.
