King Khalid University Hosts AI Summer Camp in Partnership with KAUST Academy - King Khalid University

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Computer Science, recently hosted the Artificial Intelligence Summer Camp. Offered by KAUST Academy, the camp saw the participation of 52 male and female students from 15 universities across the Kingdom. This camp serves as an advanced practical phase within a comprehensive training program designed to enhance specialized technical capabilities and transform knowledge into implementable projects that serve various vital sectors.

Dr. Areej Al-Asiri, Dean of the College of Computer Science, affirmed that this collaboration with KAUST Academy is an effective model for building an educational experience that extends beyond the classroom. She noted that the camp represents the culmination of multiple stages students have undergone, including theoretical content, practical training, and qualifying exams, concluding with the selection of the highest-performing participants for this intensive practical experience. She explained that the program focuses on developing smart solutions based on advanced technologies in areas such as computer vision, natural language processing, and big data analytics.

Dr. Al-Asiri added that a distinguishing feature of this camp is its interactive environment, which allows students to work within research teams under the supervision of elite experts. This provides them with an experience close to the reality of technological innovation and advanced research communities. She also highlighted the college's keenness to activate such qualitative partnerships that contribute to developing specialized skills and enhancing their students' presence in modern technology fields.
