As part of the activities accompanying the 15th Annual Book Fair, and in collaboration with the Abha Literary Club, a lecture was held on Wednesday the 8th of Safar delivered by Prof. Hassan bin Fahad Al-Huwaimel, Qassim University, and moderated by Dr. Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Sharif, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at King Khalid University.

In the lecture, Al-Huwaimel explained that paperback books will always be popular even with the presence of electronic books. He maintained that the feel and utility of paperback books are far greater than that of electronic books.

He added that electronic books provide advantages such as accessibility, capacity, and size inasmuch that they do not diminish the value of a paperback or hardback book. He concluded by observing that the nostalgic relationship we have with paperback books will never be truly replaced by electronic books.
