On the sidelines of the activities of “Tebian” project for the prevention of extremism, which is held these days in King Khalid University, in cooperation with King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, lectures for intellectual enlightenment were held. They were delivered by Mr. Saud Almuseibih, and Dr. Rashid Al-Zahrani. Also, Dr. Said bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, delivered lecture entitled "Moderation in Islam".

Professor Saud Almuseibih, in his lecture, emphasized on the importance of enhancing the intellectual enlightenment among young people, to face the misguided and deviant misconception trends. He called on the young people to be alert to such ideas, and deal with them in correct educational methods, explaining that the intellectual awareness was a main demand of every nation, because it is the base of its stability and safety, and he said: "intellectual enlightenment is one of the most important elements. It is the head of the body, because of its firm relation with the identity of the nation, and it is a civilized character, as thought is the most critical thing in life, because of its close relation between the intellectual security and the issues which have firm links with it, either positively represented by moderation, and a culture of dialogue, or negatively represented by deviation and intellectual violence".

From his side, Dr. Rashid Al-Zahrani, clarified that security had great impact; if there was stability in the country, and security and safety in people's life, they would be secure in their religion, in their blood, in their wealth and in their honor. On the other hand, if we lost security, people would lose their religion and they would not be able to practice their religious rituals, in addition to not being safe with their wealth, with their blood and with their honor, because thought creates the concepts of things.

Dr. Said bin Misfer, talked in his lecture, about moderation in Islam, where he explained that if we understand the moderation in Islam, a comprehensive understanding, then we considered its fractions, and we studied them, we would find out that it included life in all its aspects and meanings, and it left an impact in the psyche of the Muslim, in all its aspects and meanings, so he or she feels pride and glory to Allah on one hand, and humility and responsibility to Him, and to His slaves on the other hand. Therefore it has its impact on the Islamic nation as a whole, sublimity, gentleness and tolerance, in a way that enables the civilization to become widespread and to prosper, as well as this moderation making the Islamic nation the center of all humanity, and enabling it to attract the talents, expertise and competencies, and to use them for the public utility, that the Islam aimed at.
