University President attended a workshop entitled "Innovation in Education".

His Excellency the King Khalid University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood has participated in a workshop for the Saudi universities Presidents, entitled "Innovation in Education". The workshop which was organized by the Yanbu Industrial City - the Academic Leadership Center that belongs to the Ministry of Higher Education - was also under the supervision of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

The workshop, which lasted for two days discussed a number of issues, such as changing the target of modern universities, innovation in the field of teaching, innovation in the creation of new academic programs, the success or failure of strategic planning, the mechanisms for implementing the strategic plan, innovative places for learning, innovative solutions to help the teaching staff and the academicians to improve their performance, as well as the innovative information technology for Higher Education.

The workshop had hosted a number of international experts, such as the Dean of the Harriet College in Florida Atlantic University, USA, Dr. Jeffrey Buller. Also in attendance at the workshop were the former president of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States, Graham Spanier, and the Director of the Office of Educational Technology and Innovation, Dr. Vijay Kumar.

It is noteworthy that this workshop which holds annually, is the sixth in the series of the workshops that are organized by the Center for the Presidents of the Saudi universities.
