The Kingdom's History in the Interest of Vision 2030

His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, sponsored a meeting titled "The National History of Public Education in Higher Education in Light of the Saudi 2030 Vision". The meeting was organized by the Historical Society in Asir in collaboration with the Department of History at King Khalid University.

In his speech, Al-Solamy welcomed the participants of the meeting, stressing the importance of this meeting and concentrating on national values, the concept of loyalty and true belonging, and the importance of partnerships between educational departments owing to the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The Dean of the College of Human Sciences, Dr. Yahya Al-Sharif, described the meeting as a reflection of the importance of partnerships between employees and those interested in harnessing their practical and scientific academic potential to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030. He noted that the themes of the meeting range from the scientific foundations to the cultural and historical depth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The General Supervisor of the Historical Society in the Asir Region, Dr. Saad bin Hussein bin Othman, related that the project of the Historical Society in Asir Region is entitled "History of a Nation and a Nation of History." The project examines the subject of national history, as the primary concern of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to affirm nationalism, loyalty, and citizenship.

It is worth noting that the meeting included three sessions; the first was entitled "National History in Public Education" presented by Dr. Mohammed bin Mansour. Following after, Dr. Ali bin Saleh Al-Omari talked about "The Historical Content in the Curricula of Education". Dr. Jumaan Al-Shahrani spoke about "The Methods of Teaching History", while Dr. Ghorama Al-Shehri presented a paper on "Developing the Curriculum of History in Education to Meet or Exceed Vision 2030".

The second session began with a presentation on "National History in University Education" by Dr. Hassan bin Yahya al-Shawkani. Dr. Ghaitan bin Ali Jaris followed with a talk on "The Depth of National History and the Biography of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Islamic Civilization".

The concluding session began with an insightful talk on the history of the Kingdom and Vision 2030 by Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al-Faie. Dr. Said bin Mushabab closed the event with a presentation on the development of curriculum in history departments according to the Vision 2030.
