King Khalid University Ranks Fifth Nationally and 801 globally in the Shanghai classification
King Khalid University for the first time is among the Shanghai Ranking of World Universities (AUWR) for the year 2021 AD, ranking 801 worldwide, while ranking fifth on Saudi Universities and 11th among Arab universities.
The University Vice President of Quality and Development Dr. Marzin Al Shahrani, explained that the classification unit at the university started working towards entering the Shanghai classification in 2018 ,acknowledging the fact that the competition is high and only 1000 university’s are included in the classification. Al Shahrani said, to enter the classification the unit undertook intensive preparations and received great support from His Excellency the University President and the university colleges and entities. He added we consider this achievement a potential turning point that will lead the university to future success.
On his part the unit supervisor of the international classification unit Dr. Sami Al Shahri explained that this classification determined through four main criteria, which are: Quality of Education , Quality of faculty members ,Research publications ,individual performance.
