The conclusion of trainers' preparation for drug prevention at the university.

On behalf of the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, His Excellency the Vice - President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mari Al-Qahtani, yesterday patronized the conclusion of trainers' preparation for drug prevention at the university, which was organized by the King Khalid University, in cooperation with the National Project for the Prevention of Drug and Psychotropic Substances (Nebras). The occasion was attended by dignitaries, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the project, Dr. Nizar Saleh, His Excellency Dr. Saeed Surayhi, the General Supervisor of the program of prevention through education environments, in addition to the Assistant Director of combating drugs in Asir region, Colonel Hussein Melfi.

The course aimed at preparing more than 70 trainees from various military and civilian sectors of the various regions of the Kingdom. The course which was held over 10 days was presented by 15 certified trainers from the faculty members of King Khalid University. The venue was at the auditoriums of the university.

At the beginning of the event, the scientific supervisor of the program who is also the Dean of the College of Education at King Khalid University, Dr. Abdullah Alkasi, welcomed the event sponsor, the guests and trainees of the second version of the program, pointing out that that version was an extension of what had been previously held in the city of Riyadh. Dr. Alkasi stated that the university was proud of organizing such events that would protect the society, as well as the whole nation from pests. He said, "We spent 10 distinctive days that were full of science, knowledge, and exchange of experience, including 60 hours of training between the workshops and training courses. We Hope the trainees have taken ultimate benefit of these works." Dr. Alkasi further thanked His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, and His Excellency the Vice - President, Prof. Dr. Mari Al-Qahtani, for their efforts and support for the successful conduct and completion of the course. He also thanked His Excellency the Chief Executive Officer of the project, and the General Supervisor of the program of prevention through education environment, for trusting the university to conduct the course at its campus. He added, "We hope that this cooperation extends, and that these blessed efforts continue at the university as being a strategic partner for the project"

After that, there was a short note on the most important studies reached by the trainees in learning environments during the course, which targeted university students and their communities, in addition to boys' schools, and students of military courses from many military sectors, as a military educational training environment. The studies also targeted general public, the university, and military education students, as well as military faculty members and trainers, in addition to students' families from the two sectors.

The Supervisor General of the program of prevention through education environments also thanked the University, and all those in charge of the conduct of that event, noting that the Commission had a special power in drawing national strategic plans, stressing that the National Narcotics Control Commission derives its strength through the unification of many miniseries and government agencies, which manifest to what extent drug problem is harmful to the people.
