University to inaugurate the 2nd Academic Book Fair.
On behalf of the King Khalid University (KKU) President, Prof. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Al dawood, his Excellency the University Vice - President for the Academic and Educational Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Bin Ali Alhassoun has inaugurated the 2nd Academic Book Fair. The opening of the fair took place on Tuesday, 7/1/1437 AH, and was organized by the Deanship of Library Affairs at the University City in Abha. Academic book specialized publication houses are participating in the fair where they will show their modern scientific publications in different scientific specializations.
Dr. Alhassoun praised all efforts done by the Deanship of Library Affairs. He also praised the Deanship's keenness to meet the needs of all the University students. He said, "The University holds this fair annually for two weeks, at the beginning of the academic year. The purpose is to benefit the students by meeting their needs through providing them with academic books they may need." He added, "The University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Al dawood has made a 75% discount for the students on the displayed books, especially in the medical books as these kinds of books are very expensive." Dr. Alhassoun also explained that it was the University's duty to provide its students with all academic books and references they needed.
For his part, the Dean of Library Affairs Deanship, Dr. Saeed Bin Qasem Alkhaldi used the occasion to clarify that "the deanship cherishes these kinds of activities. The purpose is to show modern and different publications of various medical, health, and scientific disciplines, especially after the success achieved by the first version of the academic book fair which took place last year, and in which most students of the University became highly interested". Dr. Alkhaldi further confirmed that "the deanship is organizing the current fair in the academic year 1436/1437 AH in order to give a chance to the students of the University to buy the academic books they need for their study during the first term." In addition, the Deanship of Library Affairs aims, through organizing such fairs to encourage the students of the University to obtain new versions of the books that are currently displayed in publication houses but on reasonable prices. Dr. Alkhaldi thanked the University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Al dawood for his unwavering support to the book system in the University.
