Rector honors 14 talented students.

His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, yesterday inaugurated  the exhibition that is accompanying the activities of the ceremony of "Talent and Creativity Center". The event took place in the center's headquarter at the University City in Abha, in the presence of a number of Vice - Presidents, talented students, and their parents.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the President of the Talent and Creativity Center Dr. Zafer Al-Hammad welcomed the Rector of the university, the Vice - Presidents, and all those in attendance. Dr. Al-Hammad also confirmed that the Rector's interest in the center and his continued support to it, is what made the center to achieve the progress it achieved in the field of invention and creativity, adding that, " The center's care of talent and talented is based on a policy that talent is something important for all nations, so the center harnesses all its efforts in talent development process."

After that, a documentary film about the center was displayed to review its sections and units in addition to its achievements. Most notably the implementation of the Summer Enrichment Program which has been held continuously for 14 years, in addition to the Center's participation in a number of forums, locally and internationally, and its arranging of competitions and exhibitions.

Then, the Rector of King Khalid University gave a word in which he thanked the audience and the center's administrators, praising their efforts that impact positively on the students and on the university in general. At the beginning of his speech, the Rector directed it to the students, quoting the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' word when he said, "The homeland gave you a lot and we are expecting a lot, too." The Rector further pointed out that, "We are under a good leadership and we are granted the most important blessing - security and safety." He continued, "we must appreciate the importance of these blessings, and we must strive with all our efforts to achieve progress for our dear homeland." In addition, the Rector clarified that the role of the university as a Saudi educational institution was to seek, like others, to provide creations and innovations of its students and teachers for the betterment of the homeland in various scientific fields. President Al-Dawood stated that the university recorded, in many forums, excellence and success, thanks to God and the efforts made by colleagues. He said, "I do not want to attribute the achievements of the university to me as its manager. In fact, I am only a member of a group that includes sincere men and women who always seek to serve this university and the dear country."

At the end, an account of the University was inaugurated in the patent office of the King Abdul-Aziz City for Science and Technology, which is responsible for registering intellectual copyrights, both locally and internationally, before finally President Al Dawood honored 14 talented students, thus ending the ceremony
