On September 30 of each year, the world celebrates the International Translation Day. This year, the College of Language and Translation at KKU  organized a celebratory event to commemorate this day.

"These events highlighted the significance of translation and its ability to bridge cultural gaps". Said the Dean of the College of Language and Translation, Dr. Ahmed Ismael Asiri. He added, "The College of Language and Translation fosters academic excellence and aims to improve academic output through developing students' skills and talents and preparing  them for the job market, in light of the Saudi Vision 2030".

Head of the Translation Department at the College of Language and Translation, Dr. Issa Asiri, explained the week-worth of events and activities organized by the department, included seminars, workshops and lectures on translation, as  well as a talk with freshmen students from the recently established, Translation Bachelor's Program. The events witnessed a large attendance from all over the university, alongside established translators and translation enthusiasts.

Dr. Issa Asiri continued, "Translators face many hardships. They carry the cultural weight of the material and are responsible for not only the accuracy of the text, but also its creative and artful presentation. Translators are vessels of knowledge and culture that carry people to a place of mutual understanding that is otherwise uncharted".
