In the Presence of His Excellency Minister of Education, the Governor of Asir Patrons the Launch Ceremony of King Khalid University's Strategy 2030

King Khalid University's 2030 strategy was officially launched on June 8 at the university theater in Al-far'aa, which is in line with the strategy of Asir development, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir Region and Head of Asir Development Authority, and in the presence of Prof. Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, Minister of Education. In his speech, Prince Turki bin Talal emphasized the need to go forward with the implementation of the alignment between the strategy of Asir development and KKU's Strategy, stressing that perfection in the national work environment is the only path to follow.

A video show highlighting the university's academic and community accomplishments opened the ceremony on this particular date. The university's 2030 strategy was then officially launched by His Excellency the university president and His Excellence the minister of education, Prof. Youssef Al-Bunyan.

The Minister of Education spoke during the ceremony, expressing his joy at being a part of one of the prestigious universities in the field of higher education, which has the support of the wise leadership—may God protect them—and stressing that the alignment between the strategies of Asir and KKU goes beyond comprehensive development work plans, emphasizing the ministry's support for all universities by fostering research and development.

He added that universities are a creative environment for developing human resources and finding innovative solutions to challenges in the public and private sectors, creating new job prospects and aligning their outcomes with the labor market.

His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solami, delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for his generous patronage of the event and thanked His Excellency, Minister of Education, for his presence to launch the university's strategy 2030, which is in the alignment of the Asir region Development Strategy, and through which the university seeks to enhance its educational, research and community roles to reflect the efficiency of the Kingdom’s sectors in performance, in addition to achievements' excellence thanks to what the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 created in the work culture.

Al-Solami emphasized the university's efforts to strengthen academic programs through the establishment of two colleges: Tourism & Hospitality and Architecture & Planning, as well as the development of medical colleges and innovation in the colleges of Engineering, Computer Science, and Business, the redefinition of several colleges' areas of focus, and the expansion of applied diploma programs in accordance with labor market requirements, in collaboration with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

Dr. Tahani Al-Mailbi, Director of the University Strategy Department, gave a presentation on the foundations of King Khalid University's strategy, which focused on its vision of becoming a world-leading university in enhancing the environment and promoting the economy through six strategic goals, which improve teaching and learning outcomes. The strategy also aims to boost social responsibility and volunteerism, advance research and innovation, raise university life quality, attain institutional excellence, and diversify revenue streams. Following that, a visual presentation of the university's strategy and how it aligns with the Asir region's strategy was screened.

The ceremony saw the presence of the Secretary General of the Universities Affairs Council, Dr. Bassam Al-Bassam, in addition to directors of government departments in the region, a number of governorate governors, heads of centers, and university employees.
