The IMT Technology Arabia magazine named Dr. Salem bin Fayez Al-Olayani, the director of the Artificial Intelligence Center and advisor to His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, among the 30 most influential Arab figures in the field of artificial intelligence in both the public and private academic sectors, for the year 2022 AD.
Al-Alayani, is one of the most distinguished members in the field of artificial intelligence. He received his PhD in the field of Artificial Intelligence from Arizona State University and is known for his research and work in the field. Al Olayani, contributed to enriching the Arabic artificial content in the field of artificial intelligence through his social media presence and personal blog.
Dr. Salem Al-Alayani, has occupied several positions which included Assistant Professor at King Khalid University, Adviser to KKU Vice President of Business and Knowledge Economy, Kku General Supervisor of the General Administration of Information Technology, Kku General Supervisor of the General Administration of Cyber Security, Kku Director of the Artificial Intelligence Unit and Kku Vice Dean of E-Learning Deanship. He also worked as an Assistant Professor at the University Arizona State.
Al-Alayani, received several awards, most notably the 2014 Arizona State University President’s Award for Innovation, and the ICMG Award for Best CIO Director of Information Technology in 2016.
On being named one of MIT’s 30 most influential Arab in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Al -Alayani, said “ is a tribute from a prestigious international body known for its excellence in the field of technology at the global level.
Al-Alayani extended his appreciation to our wise leadership - may God protect it - for its efforts in the development of human capabilities and global competitive citizens. He commended the kingdom’s rise in the field of technical sciences in general and in artificial intelligence in particular, and the elevation in quality of life witnessed today.
He also thanked King Khalid University and His Excellency the President of the University, Professor. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, stressing that His Excellency encouragement and continuous support for knowledge growth and human source development is a motive King Khalid University are driven by.
Al-Alayani is a model of Saudi youth and the symbol of a distinguished university professor and researcher whose career is appreciated and celebrated by all.
