His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al Solamy announced that the university is going to organize, next year, the university theater festival which is considered the first of its kind at the level of the Saudi universities. The festival comes to the consent of the Minister of Education. Rector Al Solamy stressed that there are great efforts exerted by the holders of theatrical activities in the Deanship of Student Service, noting that the festival, hosted by the university, would achieve significant benefit for all of King Khalid University students and other Saudi universities.
This was stated during His Excellency the Rector's sponsorship to the third University theater Festival, on Tuesday 8 Jumadah Al Thani, in the presence of the Saudi artist, Yusuf Al jarah. In a speech during the ceremony, Rector Al Solamy thanked the attendees, Deanship of Student Service, and the holders. He pointed out that the festival will be better a year after a year.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Theatre Festival of the Deanship of Student Service, Mr. Mohammed Al Kaabi welcomed the Rector of the university and the attendees as well, pointing out that the third edition of the theater festival has reached a satisfactory level. He added that the deanship burdens lots of work, after the first version of the festival, as well as the second version. He said, "We found that a preliminary qualifying is necessary and this is what happened. We also benefited from our experiences with regard to the courses and workshops, which benefited more than 140 students."
