The Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa sponsors the International Conference which is entitled "Arabic Language and literary text on the internet" The conference is organized by King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and it takes place on Tuesday, 17/5/1438 AH in Abha Palace Hotel, and it holds over two days.
The Rector of KKU who is the Supervisor General of the conference, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy has valued the Education Minister's sponsrship to the conference. Al Solamy added that the event comes within the ministry's permanent concerns and ongoing support of activities and scientific programs at the university, especially the Arabic language is the language of the Holy Quran. Moreover, Rector Al Solamy explained that in light of technical means that characterized the modern era and due to the increase in using the Arabic Language on the internet in recent times, therefore, it became necessary to organize such conferences.
Al Solamy pointed out that the importance of the conference stems from being addressing the issue of the Arabic language and technology, which are two components of the movement of thought and culture. Al Solamy added that the conference aims to clarify the reality of the Arabic language on the internet and to find out theoretical, technical, and scientific solutions to address linguistic weaknesses on the internet. The conference also aims to know the potential provided by the internet that would serve the Arabic language and its future prospects. The conference would help in showing the technical dimensions added by the technical content of the literary text, in addition to encouraging technical research about Arabic language service on the internet.
For his part, the Vice-President for Educational and Academic Affairs, who is also the Head of the organizing committee of the conference, Prof. Mohammed bin Ali Alhassoun, stressed that the conference proves the belief of the King Khalid University in its education role at the local and Arab levels. He added that language, in general, has a great value in the life of every nation because language is the tool that carries ideas and transfer concepts. Thus, communication links among people of the same nation would be formed. In the same time, Al hassoun added that the progress, spread, and prosperity of any language in the world depends on the seriousness, care, pride, and love of its speakers.
Al hassoun said that language is the tongue of a person and his mind through which he could express his ideas, culture, and identity, pointing out that "the Arabic language and literary text on the internet" includes a selection of researchers involved in the linguistic field.
In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Dr. Yahya Al-Sharif explained that the themes of the conference are talking about the Arabic language on the internet in light of modern linguistic lesson, and includes the Arabic language levels on the internet.
