On behalf of His Excellency the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, the Vice President for Health Specialties, Prof. Dr. Khalid Al Jalaban, has sponsored "the first day of the medical research conference" for the students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University, where more than 30 researches were presented.
Prof. Al Jalaban said in his speech: “we have enough researches perhaps what we have seen this day, either the numbers or the quality, is an evidence of that, and we have quest for the needs of community in the researches which were presented by the students, and they give the scientific research to be in the best image, and to cover the basic science in the clinical science”.
Prof. Al Jalaban stressed on the importance of the scientific research in the medical field, and abiding by the rules and standards required in order to reach a successful medical and health system.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Suleiman Hamid, has used the occasion to explain that those were festive days for the Faculty of Medicine, and they were pleased with the launch of the first day of scientific research for students in the college. Dr. Hamid stressed that the idea of the conference of the first medical research, the contribution of students in scientific research, exploring it thoroughly, learning its rules, its writing, its presentation and publishing it, was sensing, and early awareness, of the significance of that important part of the student's life, and its impact on the individual and the society. Dr. Al Hamid also pointed to the support of the Rector of King Khalid University, for the research of students, so that they can participate in global conferences. He expressed his gratitude to the participating students, and to all those in charge of the first medical conference that was held to enrich the intellectual side of the male and female students.
The leader of the student activity, Dr. Saleh Al Qahtani, has explained that those researches came out of the student's feelings of the importance of medical research in particular, and the sensing of their responsibility towards their country, noting that the idea was presented by medicine and creativity Club in Faculty of Medicine, which gave the students the opportunity for the dissemination of research culture. He indicated that more than 30 researches were presented, and approved by the Scientific Committee, which discussed 24 researches, including 6 researches verbally, and 18 researches in the form of research posters.
