Recently, the Deanship of Student Affairs of King Khalid University (KKU) has issued its final report, which appeared in 90 pages. The report explained what the Deanship had provided during the academic year 1435 AH –1436 AH.
In details, the Deanship of Student Affairs is counted as one of the supportive deanships at the university, which consists of several departments that are concerned with the affairs of university students, and which seeks to provide services that will create appropriate Academic atmosphere. In addition, the Deanship seeks to serve students through its departments and vice - Presidencies. For instance, that vice - presidency of the deanship has several departments such as Student Affairs, Grants, Students' Housing Management, Nutrition, and the Unit of Student's Rights, which was adopted by the university to protect the rights of students to reach a homogeneous community inside the University in which the spirit of mutual cooperation prevails among all of the employees, in addition to the adoption of the principles of justice and fairness in building an ideal community within the university. Furthermore, the deanship offers its services through the Vice - Presidency of Development and Quality, which conducts a number of training courses that seek to burnish and develop the skills of more than 786 students. The Vice - Presidency of Development and Quality also aims at achieving mutual communication between the university and its graduates in order to develop their skills and enhance their opportunities for competition in the labor market. Another vice - presidency that is affiliated to the Deanship of Student Affairs is the Vice - Presidency of Student Activities, which organizes major events.
It is noteworthy that the academic year 1435 / 1436 AH, witnessed arranging many events such as new students' reception, in which the number of students exceeded 2,015 in total, in addition to arranging the celebration of the National Day, in which the number of students present exceeded 500. Also there was the Olympics cultural event, which saw the attendance of 3,000 people, as well as the competitive scientific meeting, with the number of students present exceeding 3,000. There was also the conclusion of student activities ceremony, at which 1,850 students attended.
The Vice - Presidency of Student Activities additionally provides cultural and scientific activities. It is against this background that it held 10 lectures that benefited 620 students. Concerning external participation, there were four of them that benefited 85 students. The Vice - Presidency of Student Affairs also had two participation in scientific conferences and international exhibitions that benefited 155 students. In social and scouting activities, many trips and visits were organized, and these benefited 280 students. There was also a Scout team of 60 students in number, that participated in the scout camp aimed at serving the pilgrimage at the last Hajj. With regard to sportive activities, the report revealed that the university had participated in 14 different games at the Championship of Saudi Universities League. Remarkably, the University achieved advanced places. Success in sportive field is an expected result if we recognize the great support the King Khalid University is being receiving for sportive activities.
The report also included some information about students' clubs, which is a breakthrough towards building students' integrated and refining personalities, so as to highlight their talents. More than 6,626 students had benefited from student clubs through over 40 Clubs that had arranged 1,870 activities.
