The Club of the Roving Tribes of the King Khalid University (KKU) is participating at the public service camp for the pilgrims. The camp is organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association in the current Hajj season of 1436 AH.
The supervisor of the Scout activity, who is also the President of the above mentioned Club, Professor Hani Al-Zahran, has made it known that 48 students from King Khalid University would participate in the voluntary activities at the Hajj facilities. There, they will be spread over three scout groups. The total number of the students from different parts of the Kingdom who are participating in the voluntary activities is over 3000. The purpose of gathering these volunteering students is to offer appropriate voluntary services to the guests of Allah - the pilgrims. Inclusive in their aim is the desire to help the pilgrims to perform the Hajj easily and conveniently, and to provide them with a range of first aid services, rescue, surveys and guidance.
Regarding this important adventure, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Merr’a Saad Al-Habash, has stated that the goal of participating in such activity was to serve the pilgrims, adding that such, was the representation of the role of the university in the provision of community service. He said, "The club members, through their participation, will conduct the process of scanning to the sacred Masha’r, in Arafat. It is known that the activities will be of 7 days duration, in which the participants will be able to recognize Masha’r scheme, such as borders, distribution of campaigns, and how to read maps, in addition to the easier ways to guide the drifters of pilgrims and how to deal with them, starting from the arrival of the pilgrims to the holy sites on the 8th of Dhu Al-Heja and until the last day of a sacred rituals. During these days, participants from the Club will be distributed to the guiding centers which are extended over all areas of the sacred places. "
