Under the patronage and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Aseer Region and Chairman of the Aseer Development Authority, a ceremony was held to mark the World Health Organization 
accreditation of King Khalid University as a Healthy University City, among four healthy cities in Aseer Region. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef Al-Benyan; His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel; His Excellency the Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Al-Fayyadh; His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solamy; and a number of officials and leaders from the government, healthcare, and education sectors.
His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz received the accreditation certificates for four healthy cities in the region from His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel. The accredited cities included Abha, Muhayil Aseer, Tareeb, and King Khalid University. The ceremony was held at the University City in Al-Fara’a, and the accreditation followed the fulfillment of 80 criteria under the World Health Organization’s Healthy Cities standards.
King Khalid University’s accreditation as a Healthy University City builds on the University’s efforts to create an environment that supports health and quality of life, promote preventive practices, and raise health awareness, contributing to the establishment of healthy lifestyles and a university environment that encourages prevention and well-being.
This accreditation reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening integration with relevant health and community entities and expanding the impact of its health and preventive initiatives, supporting the aspirations of the region and the Kingdom toward healthier communities and a higher quality of life.
