King Khalid University welcomed more than 60,000 male and female students yesterday, Sunday, with the start of the first academic semester across its colleges and campuses. Students were received through an integrated system of academic, student, technical, and support services, contributing to a well-organized start to the academic year and a motivating learning environment that supports students from their very first day.
The University's preparations included completing student-related academic processes, finalizing internal and external transfer procedures, reviewing class schedules, and coordinating with colleges to meet academic requirements. Preparations also included equipping classrooms, laboratories, and educational facilities, as well as ensuring the readiness of electronic systems, digital platforms, and educational digital services.
As part of the beginning of the academic year, the Deanship of Student Affairs continued to provide its services and student programs through the Student Care and Counseling Center, offering guidance and counseling services that support students academically, psychologically, and socially. In addition, the Deanship continued to provide services and accommodations for students with disabilities to promote their participation and integration into university life.
The Deanship also introduced a wide range of cultural, sports, and theatrical student programs and activities aimed at developing students' skills, nurturing their talents, and encouraging active participation in university life. In addition, several services are available electronically through the "Muhtam" platform, including registration for student activities and clubs, as well as access to student-oriented services and programs.
The University also places significant emphasis on health and quality of life as part of the services provided to its students by offering healthcare services, specialized counseling, and programs that support mental and social well-being. These initiatives contribute to creating a healthy and motivating university environment that enhances students' quality of life and helps them achieve balance and academic success.
The launch of the academic year was supported by the coordinated efforts of the University's deanships, colleges, centers, and administrative and support units to ensure the readiness of facilities, services, and systems, and to facilitate students' access to them. These efforts reflect the University's commitment to making the beginning of the academic year an organized and integrated experience that places students at the center of attention and provides them with an environment that supports learning, engagement, and excellence.
