On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Council of Universities Affairs, His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Professor Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solami, chaired yesterday, Wednesday, the tenth meeting of the University Council for the 1447/1448 AH academic year. The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Council of Universities Affairs, Professor Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Aqili, the university vice presidents, deans of colleges and supporting deanships, and members of the University Council. His Excellency opened the meeting by welcoming the members before reviewing the items listed on the agenda.
The Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, Professor Hamed bin Majdou Al-Qarni, explained that the Council approved the development plan for research and innovation performance at the university and endorsed the strategic program for creating knowledge and innovation impact. The Council also approved the development of study plans for several graduate programs as part of the university's efforts to enhance the quality of its academic and research outcomes and increase its competitiveness locally and internationally.
Al-Qarni added that the Council adopted several decisions related to academic and administrative affairs, including approving the awarding of academic degrees, deciding on the appointments of a number of faculty members and equivalent personnel, reviewing several requests concerning sabbatical leave and exceptional leave, and approving the recommendations of the Audit Committee contained in the minutes of its eighth meeting for the 2026 fiscal year.
