The Vice President of King Khalid University for Educational Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, recently received a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) and partner health entities as part of a visit aimed at exploring the University's academic and research capabilities. The visit comes within the framework of national efforts to support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's malaria-free status by preventing local transmission of the disease.
At the beginning of the visit, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam welcomed the delegation at the headquarters of the Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs. He presented an overview of King Khalid University, highlighting its academic and research achievements, educational capabilities, and its role in supporting the healthcare sector through its academic programs, scientific research, and strategic partnerships, all of which contribute to community service and the advancement of the public health system.
The delegation then toured the Central Laboratories, where they were introduced to the University's research infrastructure, including its advanced equipment and technologies. They also learned about the University's scientific research capabilities and the supportive environment it provides for researchers across various disciplines.
The visit also included the Central Library, where the delegation explored its facilities and academic services, including modern learning environments, training facilities, and workshops. The delegation also met with several international students, listened to their experiences, and learned about the services provided by the University to support them and enhance their educational journey.
The visiting delegation included Dr. Elkhan Gasimov and Dr. Samira Al-Ariani from the World Health Organization; Dr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Zahrani and Dr. Abu Zaid Abdullah Abu Zaid from the Ministry of Health; Mr. Saeed Jabran Al-Waqidi and Dr. Tarek Abdulqader Mohammed from the Ministry of Health Branch in the Aseer Region; and Dr. Mohammed Saad Al Abdullah and Mr. Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Qahtani from the Public Health Authority (Weqaya).
