On behalf of the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Universities Affairs Council, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, chaired the eighth meeting of the University Council for the 1447/1448 AH academic year.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Universities Affairs Council, Prof. Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Aqili, along with members of the University Council. The Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Hamed bin Majdou Al-Qarni, explained that the Council reviewed the items on its agenda and adopted the necessary decisions.
These included the approval of new graduate programs and their availability for admission in the 1448/1449 AH academic year, as well as the approval of an academic partnership between the University, represented by the College of Architecture and Planning, and the CRAterre Laboratory at Grenoble Alpes University in France. The Council also approved the extracurricular activities plan for the 1448/1449 AH academic year, in addition to endorsing the recommendations of the Investment Committee and the Audit Committee. Among its other decisions, the Council approved the acceptance of a number of donations made to the University.
It also approved scholarships, scholarship extensions, scholarship terminations, and the attachment of a number of teaching assistants and lecturers to scholarship programs. Furthermore, the Council approved several requests for recruitment assistance, renewal of service contracts, extension of services, appointments, transfers, and early retirement. The Council also reconstituted the Permanent Committee for the Affairs of Teaching Assistants, Lecturers, Language Instructors, and Research Assistants for a two-year term.
