The Executive Director General of the Medical City at King Khalid University, Prof. Fouad bin Idris Abak, attended the awareness forum for people with multiple sclerosis and their families, organized by the Medical City, with the aim of raising awareness about the disease, providing support to patients and their families, improving their quality of life, and enabling them to positively cope with the health challenges associated with it.
The Executive Director General of the Medical City, Prof. Fouad bin Idris Abak, toured the advisory and awareness booths accompanying the forum, where he reviewed the services and educational programs provided to people with multiple sclerosis and their families. He also listened to explanations from participating specialists about the awareness, support, and consultation efforts provided to beneficiaries.
The forum also included dialogue sessions for people with multiple sclerosis, allowing participants to exchange experiences and real-life stories, discuss the most prominent challenges they face, and review practical solutions and advice that contribute to improving quality of life and strengthening mutual support among them.
The Head of the Medical Rehabilitation Department at the Medical City, Specialist Shatha Mukhtar, confirmed that the forum comes as part of the Medical City’s efforts to enhance community awareness of multiple sclerosis and provide a platform that brings together specialists, patients, and their families in a supportive environment that contributes to knowledge sharing, exchange of experiences, and benefiting from specialized advisory services.
She added that the participation of several medical and health specialties in the forum reflects the importance of integration in caring for people with multiple sclerosis, noting that empowering patients and their families with accurate information and appropriate support is one of the key pillars for improving quality of life and enhancing the ability to live with the disease.
The organization of the forum comes within the awareness and community initiatives implemented by the Medical City at King Khalid University, stemming from its role in spreading health knowledge, strengthening communication with beneficiaries, and building a more aware, supportive, and empowered community.
