King Khalid University, represented by the College of Medicine, signed today, Thursday, a cooperation agreement with the Public Health Authority in the Asir Region, in the presence of the Vice President for Business and Community Partnership, Prof. Abdulatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi. The signing took place at the Business Center in the University City in Al-Far’a, with the aim of enhancing awareness and promoting health culture.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the University by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Mohammed Abadi Al-Salem, while the Authority was represented by the Director of its office in Asir, Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Qarni.
In detail, Dr. Al-Salem explained that the agreement falls within the framework of integrating efforts and cooperation between the two parties in health, administrative, and organizational fields. This includes implementing various awareness programs such as lectures, exhibitions, and health weeks, in addition to supporting the direction toward a smoke-free university environment through the organization of preventive measures within university facilities.
He added that areas of cooperation extend to supporting national public health programs, benefiting from academic and research expertise in laboratory and health-related fields, and utilizing available resources to serve joint activities.
The agreement also includes providing early screening services for university staff, enhancing medical and health consultations, and preparing awareness content linked to global health events, as well as implementing educational activities targeting various groups, including female students, women's health programs, and international students.
The agreement focuses on exchanging scientific and practical expertise between both parties, which enhances the efficiency and sustainability of joint programs and contributes to building a healthy university environment based on awareness and sound practices.
