In a qualitative academic achievement that reflects King Khalid University’s leadership in developing advanced educational programs, the University Council approved the Professional Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program in the Department of Business Administration at the College of Business, making it the first program of its kind among Saudi universities.
The program was approved during the University Council meeting held on March 11, 2026, where the establishment of the program was endorsed in accordance with the approved study plans and academic standards, in line with higher education trends and labor market requirements.
The program represents a qualitative addition to the postgraduate studies system, as it focuses on preparing specialized professional leaders who possess advanced knowledge and applied research skills capable of addressing real-world challenges in the business environment, contributing to sustainable development, and strengthening the national economy. The program also aims to link professional practice with applied scientific research, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Business, Dr. Abdulrahim Zahir Mashari, affirmed that the approval of the program represents a qualitative shift in the college’s journey and enhances its role in offering innovative educational programs that meet labor market needs.
He noted that the program will contribute to preparing executive leaders capable of making a tangible impact in business environments and supporting economic development in accordance with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Hamoud Mohammed Al Omar, explained that the program was designed according to international best practices. It includes advanced courses in executive leadership, business strategies, and performance quality, in addition to an applied project focused on solving real problems in the workplace. The program also admits annually a number of national talents of both genders, contributing to the development of the labor market and enhancing the efficiency of administrative leadership.
This approval reflects the university’s commitment to innovation in academic programs and to offering quality specializations that keep pace with economic and developmental transformations, while strengthening the university’s position as a leading educational institution locally and regionally.
