Under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Sulami, inaugurated on Wednesday morning the activities of the Third International Teacher Conference, “The Teacher and Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” organized by the Saudi Scientific Society for Teachers (Jusm) over two days at the Exhibition and Conference Center in the University City in Al-Faraa, attended by representatives from various educational entities.
In his opening speech, the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Sulami, highlighted the support and care that education in the Kingdom receives from the wise leadership, may God preserve it. He affirmed that the Ministry of Education’s approval to hold the conference, which received the patronage of the Minister of Education, reflects this interest and embodies the belief that education is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development. He noted that the conference coincides with the Year of Artificial Intelligence and reflects the rapid transformations in education while reinforcing the role of the teacher as a leader, facilitator, and creator of educational and human impact. He also referred to the university’s efforts in supporting the educational field through the distinguished scientific and professional presence of the Saudi Scientific Society for Teachers (Jusm), as well as the efforts of the College of Education at the university, which is more than fifty years old and offers more than thirty-five distinguished graduate programs, in addition to its support for research, innovation, professional development, community partnerships, and its achievement of an advanced position in global rankings.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Scientific Society for Teachers (Jusm) and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Prof. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Kasi, explained that the scientific committee had been keen since the beginning of its work to prepare a rigorous scientific program that combines depth of knowledge with practical application and keeps pace with the latest global trends in employing artificial intelligence in education.
Prof. Al-Kasi noted that the conference witnessed remarkable academic participation amounting to one hundred and five scientific papers, which underwent a precise review process. Sixty-four of them were accepted for publication in the conference proceedings in two scientific volumes, while forty papers will be presented in the scientific sessions held during the two days of the conference. Other papers were presented in the form of scientific posters to enhance knowledge exchange. He explained that the conference includes panel discussions and training workshops with the participation of a select group of experts and educators to explore the future of education in light of rapid technological transformations. He affirmed that this research activity witnessed by the conference, integrated with the efforts of the society through its scientific journal and the “Researcher Creativity” competition, in which more than eighty-five male and female researchers participated, reflects an advanced awareness among male and female teachers of the importance of producing solid educational knowledge that contributes to developing educational practices and building an innovative and sustainable educational system.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the participants, Prof. Salem bin Mazlouh Al-Enezi, Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methods at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, expressed his thanks to King Khalid University for hosting this conference, praising the excellent organization and generous hospitality, and commending the efforts of the society in promoting scientific activity through its initiatives and specialized programs that contribute to developing teachers’ capabilities and improving educational practices. He emphasized that the conference represents an advanced scientific platform for exchanging expertise and envisioning the future of education, and reflects an early interaction with the directions of the state, especially with the declaration of the year 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, and strengthens the role of academic institutions in developing education and building people.
During the opening ceremony, the attendees watched a visual presentation reviewing the efforts of the Saudi Scientific Society for Teachers (Jusm) in developing educational practices since its establishment and its continuous endeavor toward building effective partnerships and achieving qualitative accomplishments, in addition to its efforts in implementing specialized training programs targeting teachers and occupants of educational positions in accordance with their professional needs and contributing to enhancing the efficiency of educational performance.
At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the President of King Khalid University honored the participating entities in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the event. The speakers and participants in the conference were also honored, in addition to the research groups participating in the “Researcher Creativity” competition organized by the Saudi Scientific Society for Teachers (Jusm). Following that, the launch of the conference activities, which continue for two days, was officially announced.
