On behalf of the Minister of Education, the President of King Khalid University, His Excellency Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, chaired the 6th University Council meeting and the 2nd University Endowment Council meeting for the academic year 1447 AH. The meeting was attended by Prof. Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Uqaili, Secretary-General of the Council of University Affairs, and members of the University Council.
The Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Hamed bin Majdou’ Al-Qarni, explained that the Council reviewed the agenda and made several decisions. Most notably, it approved an executive program project between King Khalid University and Huazhong Agricultural University in the People's Republic of China, focusing on scientific fields and agricultural research.
The Council also approved the creation of several graduate programs and the development of curricula for existing ones, in addition to reappointing editorial boards for several university journals starting in 2026. Furthermore, the Council adopted recommendations from the Institute of Research and Consultant Services regarding contracts for specific projects, approved the addition of three members to the Institute's board, and accepted several endowment donations and sponsorships. Finally, the Council approved the final accounts for the 2026 fiscal year and discussed academic matters, including the scholarship status of several teaching assistants and lecturers.
