The President of King Khalid University, His Excellency Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, sponsored the closing ceremony of the Ramadan athletic, cultural, and social program last night. The event was held at the University City sports hall in Al-Fara'a, in the presence of the Director of the Ministry of Sport branch in the Asir region, Mr. Fahad Hantoum, and a team from the "Ajawid 4" initiative. Organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs through the Student Housing Department, in cooperation with the General Administration of International Students and various university entities. the program was a key part of the "Ajawid 4" initiative.
The program featured a variety of activities targeting university students, most notably the Futsal Championship for students in university housing. The tournament saw the participation of 18 teams representing 18 different countries, involving more than 200 players in a competitive atmosphere that reflected cultural diversity and fostered camaraderie among students.
The championship concluded with a final match between the Saudi Arabian team and the Madagascar team. The Saudi team secured the title with a (6-1) victory, earning the championship trophy after an impressive performance throughout the knockout-style competition.
The Dean of Student Affairs at King Khalid University, Prof. Saad bin Saeed Al-Qahtani, explained that the program is part of the university's efforts to provide high-quality initiatives that enhance the quality of campus life. These programs aim to develop students' athletic, cultural, and social skills while promoting interaction and harmony among students of different nationalities and cultures.
For his part, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Services, Dr. Gubran Yahya Mukthti, emphasized that the program succeeded in providing interactive spaces that combine physical activity with cultural and educational aspects. This, in turn, strengthens students' life skills and contributes to building a positive and motivating university environment.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency the President of the University honored the winning teams. The Saudi team received first place and a cash prize of 2,000 SAR, while the Madagascar team took second place with a prize of 1,000 SAR. The ceremony also included honoring students from the university housing who won the "Distinguished Rooms" competition, alongside distributing raffle prizes to the attending students and fans.
In a related context, the Deanship of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Mental Health Promotion Committee and the Intellectual Awareness Unit, organized several educational and developmental workshops. These sessions focused on mental health, life skills development, and the promotion of intellectual and behavioral awareness among students. The workshops were presented by various specialists and academics, with registration made available to students via the "Mohtam" platform.
