King Khalid University has achieved first place in the National Digital Education Index among higher education and training institutions in the Kingdom. This achievement was announced during the Digital Education Forum 2025, organized by the National eLearning Center in Riyadh, under the patronage and presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, and the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami.
The Vice Dean of e-Learning Services at King Khalid University, Dr. Adel Al-Sarie, explained that the university’s top ranking in the index is a culmination of its efforts in developing the e-learning system, adopting digital best practices, and enhancing the quality of the educational process in digital environments. He added that the university also achieved several specialized milestones, winning the 2025 Innovation Award in the tracks of "Learning Experience" and "Impact Creation" within the e-learning and training initiatives category, in recognition of its contributions to improving the learning experience and maximizing educational impact.
Dr. Al-Sarie also noted the university’s participation in the launch of the University Coalition initiative, where it was honored as a founding and supporting university in cooperation with the National eLearning Center. He highlighted that the university contributed several developed electronic courses that were made available to students through the initiative’s unified platform. Furthermore, the forum witnessed the launch of the Professional Certificate for AI-Enhanced Teaching, with King Khalid University being honored as the entity responsible for preparing and developing the content of this certificate in collaboration with the National eLearning Center, King Saud University, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
