On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education, His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, chaired the third meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1447. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Shaddi, on behalf of the Secretary-General of the Council of University Affairs, and members of the University Council.
The Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Hamed bin Majdou’ Al-Qarni, explained that the Council came out with a number of recommendations, foremost among them being the approval of establishing several medical fellowship programs, in addition to approving the admission numbers for all stages for the academic year 1448/1449 AH.
The Council also approved the organizational regulation for the Aseer Region History Center and agreed to reappoint the editorial boards of a number of the University's journals starting from the year 2026.
The Council endorsed the recommendations of the Investment Committee, the Investment Plan, and the operational budget for the General Directorate of Investment for the fiscal year 2026, in addition to endorsing the recommendations of the Audit Committee contained in the minutes of its thirteenth meeting for the fiscal year 2025.
Approval was also given for the scholarship, extension of scholarship, termination of scholarship, and attachment of a number of teaching assistants and lecturers. Several requests from faculty members related to the extension of services, renewal of temporary employment, and academic leave were also discussed.
