KKU Students Win 3 Gold Medals and Two Excellence Awards at the Saudi International Exhibition for Inventions and Innovations (SGiE 2025) - King Khalid University
King Khalid University students earned three gold medals and two special distinction awards during their participation in the Saudi International Exhibition for Inventions and Innovations (SGiE 2025), organized by the World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA) in Jeddah. The event featured broad local and international competition in the fields of innovation, technology, and health sciences.
Student Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Muzay'al from the College of Engineering won the Gold Medal and the Grand Special Prize for his project "RSCP". This is an advanced coating that helps reduce the radar cross-section of aircraft and absorb infrared radiation, making it more difficult for tracking systems to detect and offering promising solutions in the defense and aviation industries.
Student Al-Hanouf Awadah Al-Asmari from the College of Medicine won the Gold Medal for her invention "VitaPatch", a smart, wearable patch that continuously measures multiple vital signs without the need for blood drawing. It wirelessly transmits data to monitor any potentially dangerous health changes, enabling early intervention and improving healthcare efficiency.
Student Alaa Saleh Al-Bishri from the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha received the Gold Medal along with the Hayouf Award for Excellence, as her invention was among the top three at the exhibition, for her project "AS-DR". This is an intelligent system installed on radiation areas or X-ray devices designed to neutralize excess radiation before it reaches healthy cells, thereby helping to limit the cumulative effects resulting from radiological examinations or medical therapy sessions.
It is worth noting that King Khalid University continues its support for exceptional student projects and is keen to provide a stimulating educational and research environment for innovation and development, reinforcing the active presence of its students in invention arenas locally and internationally, in line with national objectives and the pursuit of academic and research excellence.
