King Khalid University Council Approves Establishment of Health Promotion Chair in its Second Meeting for the Year 1447 - King Khalid University

On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Council of University Affairs, His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Sulami, chaired the second meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1447/1448 AH. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheddi, representing the Secretary-General of the Council of University Affairs, as well as the university's Vice Presidents, the Deans of colleges and supporting deanships, the Dean of the Institute of Studies and Consulting Services, and the members of the University Council.

The Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Hamed bin Majdou' Al-Qarni, explained that the Council discussed a number of topics on the agenda and took the necessary decisions regarding them. These included approving the scholarship, extension, termination, and affiliation of a number of demonstrators and lecturers. Additionally, the Council considered requests from some faculty members related to the extension of secondments and services, renewal of temporary contracts, and early retirement.

The Council also adopted the recommendations of the Investment Committee and the Council of the Institute of Studies and Consulting Services. Furthermore, it approved the acceptance of in-kind donations presented to the Central Evaluation Unit for the Reading Room at the College of Medicine, in support of the clinical teaching and learning environment.

In this context, the Council approved the admission conditions and numbers for postgraduate programs for the second semester of the academic year 1447/1448 AH, aligning with the university's plans for qualitative expansion in its research and academic programs. The Council also approved the establishment of the Prof. Zuhair Al-Sebai Chair for Health Promotion, stemming from the university's role in supporting scientific research and community initiatives with a national impact.

The Council concluded its meeting by briefing its members on the University Leadership Initiative, with the aim of informing them of its developments and enhancing their knowledge of the implementation requirements within the university education system.
