Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Asir Region and Chairman of its Development Authority, King Khalid University, represented by the University Vice Presidency for Administrative Affairs, is organizing the "Institutional Excellence in University Education" Forum on Monday and Tuesday, October 27 - 28, 2025, at the Exhibition and Convention Center in the University City at Al-Fara’a.
The forum will see the participation of more than 60 entities, including Saudi public and private universities, as well as a number of government agencies, companies, and institutions from the private and non-profit sectors. The goal is to enhance institutional excellence practices and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by raising the level of competitiveness and adopting best practices in university education.
The forum aims to highlight qualitative success stories in the field of institutional excellence, spread a culture of innovation, strengthen partnerships, anticipate future challenges, and propose innovative solutions. The forum's program also includes a number of scientific sessions that discuss several themes, most notably: University Leadership, Spending Efficiency and Resource Sustainability, Human Capital, Quality of University Life, Digital Transformation, and Reputation and Institutional Communication, with the participation of 25 speakers who are experts and practitioners in this field.
In addition, the forum offers training workshops aimed at developing the skills of university personnel. It also includes platforms for partnerships and agreement signing, as well as accompanying exhibitions for a number of universities and governmental and private entities, contributing to enhancing opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise.
In this context, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Mohammed bin Hamed Al-Buhairi, explained that the forum embodies the vital role of universities as centers of institutional excellence capable of building partnerships, achieving financial sustainability, developing human competencies, and promoting technological transformation. He added: "The accompanying exhibition and the workshops all form rich platforms for showcasing distinctive experiences, exchanging expertise, and launching initiatives, thereby enhancing integration between universities and governmental and private entities. Hence, we look forward to this forum being a starting point towards more creative and effective practices that contribute to enhancing the regional and international standing of Saudi universities, in line with the ambitions of the nation and its ambitious Vision 2030."
