
KKU Launches International Conference on Sustainable Solutions in Energy and Environment (SEESC 2025) Next December - King Khalid University
King Khalid University, represented by the College of Engineering, is preparing to launch its first international conference on energy and environmental sustainability, titled "Sustainable Solutions in Energy and Environment Conference (SEESC 2025)." It is scheduled to be held from December 9 to 10, 2025, with the participation of several entities, including the Ministry of Energy and a number of governmental and private bodies, in addition to an elite group of researchers, experts, and international speakers from more than ten countries.
In detail, the Dean of the College of Engineering at King Khalid University, Dr. Saeed bin Dhafer Al-Qadi, explained that this conference represents one of the qualitative initiatives that embody the strategic directions of the university towards enhancing applied scientific research and supporting sustainability paths. He affirmed that the university seeks through this event to contribute to developing innovative solutions for energy and environmental protection, and to enhance its role in supporting relevant national sectors. He indicated that the conference aims to bring together experts and professionals from universities, research centers, and the industrial sector to exchange expertise and discuss the latest scientific and applied experiences in the fields of energy and environmental sustainability.
He also noted that the conference activities will include a special awareness exhibition organized by the Ministry of Energy targeting male and female university students. The exhibition aims to raise awareness in the fields of energy and sustainability, inform them about available training and professional opportunities, and review major national initiatives in the sector, thereby contributing to enhanced communication between national entities and qualified young talents.
For his part, the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering for Research and Postgraduate Studies and Chairman of the Conference Scientific Committee, Dr. Saad bin Fahad Al Jabar, explained that the scientific program includes a number of scientific sessions, dialogue sessions, and specialized workshops, in addition to the presentation of scientific research papers and student participation, with the involvement of more than 27 international and local speakers. The conference axes will also address multiple fields, including renewable and future energy technologies, carbon capture and utilization, innovative waste management solutions, environmental impact and remediation mechanisms, in addition to the circular economy and smart technologies. a
