The University Medical City Activates World Infection Prevention Week - King Khalid University

In the presence of the CEO of King Khalid University Medical City, Prof. Fouad Abaq, the Infection Control Department organized an awareness event on the occasion of World Infection Prevention Week 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness about prevention procedures and enhance the culture of adherence to safe health practices within health facilities.

The event included specialized awareness programs for health practitioners and visitors on mechanisms for reducing the spread of infection and ensuring a safe and healthy environment. In cooperation with the Employee Health Clinic, the seasonal influenza vaccine was also provided to Medical City staff and visitors, supporting prevention and community health efforts.

World Infection Prevention Week represents an opportunity to consolidate the concept of prevention as a cornerstone in protecting patients and healthcare workers and reducing risks within treatment environments. Meanwhile, the Infection Control Department continues to implement its awareness programs and educational activities to create a safe health environment and improve the quality of daily practices.
