
King Khalid University: Conclusion of the International Forum for Saudi Universities Graduates in Nigeria and Surrounding Countries - King Khalid University
King Khalid University concluded the work of the International Forum for Saudi Universities Graduates in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Surrounding Countries, which was held in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, under the slogan "Saudi University Graduates and Their Impact on Sustainable Development." It was organized by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with King Khalid, Tabuk, and Najran universities, and attended by Her Excellency the Minister of State for Education in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a number of representatives of the Kingdom's embassies and cultural attachés in African countries, a delegation from the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom, in addition to the participating universities, and with the participation of graduates from Nigeria, Chad, Mali, Cameroon, Gabon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In this context, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the Forum, Prof. Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Shahrani, explained that at the conclusion of the forum, the participants appreciated the services provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to international students, and they also extended their thanks to the universities and entities that participated in organizing this forum. The forum reviewed three main axes, which included "Contributions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sustainable Development in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Surrounding Countries," "Saudi University Graduates and Their Impact on the Sustainable Development of Their Countries," and "The Developmental Experiences and Initiatives of Saudi University Graduates in Health, Education, Social, Media, and Economic fields and others, which they presented in their countries." The speakers presented eighteen scientific papers and six workshops for the qualification and development of graduates.
Regarding the recommendations resulting from the forum, Al-Shahrani explained that after listening to the presentations by researchers in the forum sessions and the rich interventions from the attendees, the recommendations included: sending a cable of thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, may God protect him, and his Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, for their care for international students at the local and international levels, asking God Almighty to reward them greatly for what they offer in service of Islam and Muslims; offering profound thanks and appreciation to the President and Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for hosting the forum, the warm reception, and overcoming difficulties to present it in the most beautiful and splendid form; sending a cable of thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Universities Affairs Council for his continuous support for holding such events and forums inside and outside the Kingdom; offering thanks and appreciation to the Saudi Embassy in Abuja for the facilities and logistical support it provided for the success of this forum; and offering thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Education in the Federal Republic of Nigeria for her participation in the forum and attendance at the opening ceremony.
Al-Shahrani added that the forum also recommended: strengthening the spirit of affection, cohesion, and solidarity among graduates of Saudi universities to perform the developmental mission fully; emphasizing the importance of enhancing Islamic identity and confronting intellectual challenges and extremism through awareness and spreading moderation and balance; establishing an expert house specializing in sustainable development and the care of graduates from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and surrounding countries; carefully investing in artificial intelligence to accelerate the sustainable development of the experiences and initiatives of the graduates; holding forums for graduates of Saudi universities in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and surrounding countries periodically every three years; increasing the acceptance rate of international students in theoretical and applied specializations to contribute to achieving development in its various fields; introducing modern platforms to train graduates and invest their capabilities in serving the development of their countries; supporting the Association of Saudi Universities Graduates in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and striving to establish a permanent headquarters for it in Abuja to be a starting point for developmental giving and a permanent oasis for communication and joint work; issuing an annual bulletin on the successful experiences and initiatives in sustainable development of graduates from Saudi universities to serve as a guide for successful experiences; and submitting the final report and recommendations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, and to his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, and to His Excellency the Minister of Education and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
