Minister of Education Honors University for Progress in University Sports Performance Index - King Khalid University

His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, recently honored King Khalid University in recognition of its advanced ranking in the University Sports Performance Index for the fifteenth sports season within the competitions of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation. The honoring ceremony was attended by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Musfer Al-Qahtani, and the Deanship's team.

In detail, this achievement comes after the university secured the fifth place in the Sports Performance Index for the year 1446 AH for male students out of 48 participating government and private universities and colleges. It also held the same fifth place for female students among 45 competing universities and colleges. The index is based on several main criteria, including participation in local competitions, hosting championships, in addition to sports and competitive activities, physical and recreational activities, and competence development.

This progress reflects an ascending trajectory for King Khalid University over the past years. For male students, the university moved from 25th place in the thirteenth season (out of 52) to 6th place in the fourteenth season (out of 51), culminating in the 5th place in this fifteenth season. As for female students, the university leaped from 34th place in the thirteenth season (out of 51) to 9th place in the fourteenth season (out of 49), continuing the same trend to achieve the 5th place in the fifteenth season.

For his part, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Musfer Al-Qahtani, confirmed that the university has seen remarkable progress in its ranking in recent years. He added that the university's male and female students achieved distinguished results in various sports, including Taekwondo, Chess, Goalball (for people with disabilities), and Football, in addition to some students winning individual gold and silver medals.

Dr. Al-Qahtani indicated that this achievement reflects the great support received by student activities from His Excellency the President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, and the university's keenness to develop sports activity programs and support the skills of its male and female students, thereby enhancing the university's position among national educational institutions. He stressed the commitment to continuing to promote sports excellence and achieve future accomplishments.

This achievement is a culmination of the efforts of the university leadership and the Deanship of Student Affairs, and their keenness to actively participate in national sports competitions. It affirms the university's commitment to building integrated sports programs that develop individual and collective competencies and strengthen its standing as one of the most prominent Saudi universities in sports performance and excellence in university competitions.
