King Khalid University is set to host the 10th Conference on the Arab Impact Factor, with the theme "Scientific Publishing and the Knowledge Economy." The event will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 2-3, 2025, at the Exhibition and Conference Center on the university's Al-Fara'a campus.
The conference, held in partnership with the Association of Arab Universities and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, aims to showcase the latest developments in scientific publishing and highlight its pivotal role in building a knowledge economy. Dr. Hamed bin Majdou Al-Qarni, Vice President of King Khalid University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and head of the conference's organizing committee, stated that the university's hosting of this event reflects its continuous commitment to serving scientific research and supporting its role in community development. He highlighted the support and interest the conference has received from the university president, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, and emphasized that the conference is a significant opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences and to explore ways to integrate scientific publishing with the knowledge economy, in line with national, regional, and global transformations.
In turn, Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Qahtani, Vice Dean of Research and Graduate Studies for Research and Innovation, supervisor of the International Classifications Unit, and head of the conference's scientific committee, affirmed that the conference represents a significant step toward envisioning the future of Arab scientific publishing. He explained that its sessions will address issues of integrity and transparency, digital transformations, and advanced analytics, in addition to highlighting opportunities for regional research partnerships and leveraging international indicators to enhance the quality and impact of Arab research output. This aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and integrates with the "Peaks and Character" strategy for the development of the Aseer region.
