
King Khalid University Hosts 20th Meeting of Saudi Universities' Vice-Presidents Committee for Educational and Academic Affairs - King Khalid University
King Khalid University hosted the 20th meeting of the Committee of Saudi Universities' Vice-Presidents for Educational and Academic Affairs. The meeting was attended by Vice-Presidents for educational and academic affairs from Saudi public and private universities, as well as representatives from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.
His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of these gatherings in enhancing academic cooperation among Saudi universities. He noted that these meetings are a continuation of collaborative efforts among universities aimed at improving the educational process and fostering academic excellence, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
For his part, the Vice-President of King Khalid University for Educational Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed Dajam, clarified that the agenda included discussions on several vital topics. Prominent among these were the criteria for the Saudi Classification (Saqr), the utilization of "Jahiziyah" test results in improvement plans, the accreditation of applied college programs, and strategies for attracting distinguished faculty members, among others.
Dajam explained that several successful experiences from Saudi universities were reviewed, including Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University's experience in bridging programs, King Khalid University's experience in interdisciplinary programs and cooperative training, and Majmaah University's experience in implementing exit points. He affirmed that the extensive discussions among participants contributed to the exchange of expertise and resulted in recommendations supporting the quality of academic performance.
The Vice-President for Educational Affairs at King Abdulaziz University and Committee Secretary, Prof. Hanaa bint Abdullah Al-Nuaim, affirmed that the meeting served as an effective platform for reviewing university experiences, all united by a single vision towards developing university education. She noted that participants concluded with recommendations that contribute to aligning educational outcomes with labor market demands and enhancing the competitive advantages of different educational regions.
The Director-General of Programmatic Accreditation at the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation within the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, Dr. Bandar bin Abdulrahman Al-Khayal, pointed out that the meeting discussed the two pillars of the "Jahiziyah" program: building specialized academic standards for 57 disciplines, and implementing three stages of measurement tests. He explained that the center provided universities with detailed cards that contribute to developing curricula and study plans based on accurate results and effective feedback.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing to hold these periodic meetings to enhance coordination and integration among Saudi universities. This contributes to developing the academic system and achieving quality outcomes that align with labor market needs and support national and international competitiveness.
