His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir Region and Chairman of its Development Authority, patronized the 27th graduation ceremony of King Khalid University, totaling approximately 17,000 graduates holding diplomas, bachelor's degrees, higher diplomas, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees for the academic year 1446 AH. The ceremony took place at the sports stadium in the University City in Al-Fara'a.
The ceremony commenced with the Royal Anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Several artistic performances and folk dances were presented, in addition to the graduates' oath and a number of artistic works expressing the graduates' feelings and pride on this day.
On this occasion, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Governor of Asir Region for his gracious patronage of the ceremony. He conveyed the university's joy in graduating a cohort of male and female students who are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills and have demonstrated resilience in keeping pace with experiences and changes, with a determination to work and contribute.
Al-Solami stated, "Dear graduates, you are the hope of the nation and its Vision 2030, you are the ambition for the ascent of Asir that races towards the future, and you are the ambassadors of King Khalid University, which has adopted internationalism as its motto. Pride is achieved through you, and the world sees in you the most splendid examples of dedication and belonging. Through your words and deeds, values are embodied in the land of peaks and virtues. We will continue to work under the leadership of our Prince and within his team to harness all capabilities and forge the most worthy alliances to produce a generation qualified with work, knowledge, and training. To this we have committed and pledged, and we affirm that on this path we began our journey, and now the fruits have ripened."
Furthermore, on behalf of their fellow graduates, student Hassan Mohammed Al-Qahtani and student Zainab Ahmed Abdulwase' delivered the graduates' speech, expressing their happiness and gratitude for achieving the fruits of their efforts. They affirmed their commitment to continue learning and acquiring skills to serve their nation.
At the end of the ceremony, His Royal Highness the Governor of Asir Region honored the students who achieved first honors in various academic degrees, and commemorative photos were taken on this occasion.
