In a remarkable achievement reflecting King Khalid University’s commitment to enhancing the campus environment and promoting students' mental health, the university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Mental Health Promotion Committee, achieved 100% in all indicators of the University Mental Health Promotion Initiative, according to a report issued by the National Center for Mental Health Promotion. This distinction comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to meet the goals of its 2030 strategy, which focuses on improving the quality of university life by providing a balanced and supportive educational environment that contributes to enhancing students' academic and psychological performance.
Commenting on this achievement, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, stated that this excellence embodies the university's deep commitment to serving students and promoting their mental health. He said, “We achieved this success with the support of the Acting University President, Professor Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Du'ajam, and thanks to the continuous efforts made in various areas that were part of the evaluation. The university has focused on building well-rounded students and promoting mental health concepts among them through various initiatives integrated with scientific and research activities in this field. We have also worked to develop the Student Care Center to provide psychological and social support, in addition to launching community initiatives aimed at spreading mental health awareness.”
Al-Qahtani added, “We have also paid attention to the risk factors that may affect mental health within the university environment, closely monitoring and effectively addressing them. Additionally, we have organized numerous activities and events aimed at raising psychological awareness among students and enhancing their integration into the university community.” He emphasized that this achievement is not the end but rather a significant step in the university's journey to improve its educational environment and advance its campus services, meeting the aspirations of students and aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
