His Excellency the King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-
Solami, attended the launch of the training program "Rooting the Moderation
Approach & Promoting Intellectual Security”, which was held Yesterday, Sunday, the
9th of January, at the University City in Al-Qara'a. This program, which will last for 4
days, comes within the framework of the partnership between King Khalid
University, represented by the Intellectual Awareness Unit, and King Abdulaziz
University, represented by the Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Institute for Moderation.
The Intellectual Awareness Unit supervisor at King Khalid University, Dr.
Abdulrahman Al-Mousa, explained that the training program aims to establish the
foundations of cultural, civilizational, and human communication for the beneficiary,
in addition to consolidate the concepts of intellectual security, and to apply cultural
intelligence strategies in order to deal with intellectual opportunities and challenges in
light of new media practices.
The training program covers a number of essential fields and contemporary subject
matters, which establish the civilized affiliation of the Saudi person to cosmic,
cultural and human values. The program also revolves around the pillars of
intellectual awareness, the mental image of the Saudi identity, contemporary politics
as well as intellectual currents. It also discusses the patterns of thinking, the dangers
of intellectual disorder, extremism and terrorism, and how to deal with them.
Furthermore, the program addresses several topics, mainly intellectual security,
intellectual discourse and its significance, in addition to the new media and its role in
achieving loyalty and belonging. Additionally, it discusses the manufacturing of
extremism, the psychological, sociological, and political dimensions of it, as well as
methods of dealing with it.
It is worth noting that the program has a selection of specialists and experts in the
field.
