The Deanship of E-Learning at King Khalid University issued a report on the educational operations that took place remotely during the summer semester. The services extended to include more than 17206 male and female students of various disciplines in the university headquarters in Abha and other governorates of Asir Region.
The Vice Dean of King Khalid University for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Muhammad bin Du'ajim affirmed the university’s keenness to enhance the educational process by applying the highest standards of e-learning quality, and by providing guides and support means, in addition to holding several online training courses and workshops for faculty members and students.
In the meanwhile, the Dean of e-learning at the university, Dr. Nayef Jabali, explained that the measurements of learning management system and virtual classes during the summer semester 1442 AH has reached 236810 assessments in addition to 18,007 discussion boards, 13554 files reviewed, and 34,815 virtual classroom sessions. He also pointed out that the statistic of technical support during the summer semester was 1971 Support processes via (live chats, phone calls, WhatsApp, e-mails, office visits).
The Deanship also prepared and published a number of guidelines for faculty members and students. In the field of training, the Deanship implemented during the summer semester a training course on: Applications of Internet of Things in education for faculty members. On the other hand, the deanship held a training course on Smart Learning for students.
During the summer semester, the Deanship of E-Learning supervised the implementation of 9 various seminars, with a total number of 13,361 trainees. Additionally, it had implemented 970 electronic tests for male and female students as well as the issuance of 121 reports. Moreover, there were two initiatives on open courses. First is the audio initiative to deliver the courses for male and female students faster. Second is summaries and concepts initiative to summarize the most prominent and most important general concepts in the form of short videos that are easy to publish.
It is noteworthy that the Tamkeen channel of the Deanship of E-Learning is continuing its efforts to provide educational services to faculty members, male and female students. Since the beginning of the summer semester, the number of videos in the channel has reached 293, with 8,564 views.
