Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at King Khalid University, Dr. Misfer bin Ahmed Al Wadie, said that during the accelerated world events, and the activities of the extremist ideological and political groups that ravages the world today, it's now more important than ever to create an aware and educated generation with many tools and skills to face and create opportunities out of contemporary challenges, and transform them into dazzling grants, to achieve national advancement, self growth and community growth at various levels and fields.
On the same note, the Ministry of Education decided to establish an Intellectual Awareness Units, to reform educational and training systems and meet the 2030 national vision by creating moderate and patriotic figures that are proud of their national and traditional heritage, and can cope with the different ideologies and segments of the world, and reject violence, extremism, intellectual and physical terrorism.
Al Wadie, added that establishing an Intellectual Awareness Units aims to highlight the Kingdom's leading role in taking care of the youth locally, regionally and globally, adding that it's a priority to our wise leadership to protect the youth since they're always enthusiastic, energetic and eager to discover new things, which explains why they're targeted by the deviant groups and deviant media."
Al Wadie stressed that those in charge of Intellectual Awareness Units should pay attention to the following:
-Manufacturing intellectual awareness isn't limited to correcting the misconceptions, but it includes taking care of all awareness elements, starting with spreading Islamic awareness and applying sharia, trusting the Kingdom's abilities, capabilities and laws, achieving digital awareness to deal with technical developments, achieving financial awareness to manage expenses and savings, in addition to improving self awareness and self discovery.
-Formulating a national system of partnerships with the relevant authorities is important, to achieve integration, take care of the human component and benefit from successful international experiences.
-Developing analytical and critical thinking is a priority, to achieve positive learning and differentiate between the positive and negative educational systems. Therefore, all members of Intellectual Awareness Units have a duty to take care of today's and tomorrow's generations by discovering their capabilities and preparing them for a world full of creativity and productivity.
-Providing an encouraging environment of dialogue for learning, teaching and training is important to allow the individuals to deal with the current and coming changes in a correct and positive manner, under the guidance of the Academic Authority, to fulfill the legitimate interests, avoid tensions and conflicts and preserve our national cohesion which will always be a good example for the rest of the world.
