The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of King Khalid University, Dr. Yahya Abdullah Al-Sharif explained that writing and authoring are skills, and include opinions and ideas that definitely represent who owns them. This was stated in his word during the inauguration of the 1st Scientific Dialogue Project, which was held by the Department of Arabic Language College on Wednesday 26/1/1436 AH. The Vice - President for the Academic and Educational Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hassoun attended the inauguration, which included 11 scientific paper to read Prof. Abdullah Alghzami's intellectual and critical project. It is the first project for the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities.
Prof. Alghzami is a critic who has worked for more than thirty years, and wrote many books, in addition to the two projects; one in the "Cultural Criticism", and the other in "Women and Language". Most of his books, projects and views involved much of literary and cultural debates. The Dean said, "This reading, in which a group of colleagues from the department are participating should be characterized by courage, fairness and objectivity, springing from the professor's books and texts. Additionally, the reading should be able to detect, diagnose, and incorporate issues of research in which there are versatile interpretations, otherwise, it will deviate and be inclined towards excitement, and the issuance of stereotypical judgments." He continued: "Depending on the fact that there are a number of studies about Dr. Alghzamai, it is expected that this academic specialized work is going to achieve seriousness, and will provide a different reading. Quoting from Catherine Clement, the dean said," Criticism approach elements have created wonderful tools for observation, which do not stop in front of appearances, nor neglect small details, but preview the invisible under the visible, and not to forget anything before the conclusion". The Dean concluded his speech thanking the Department of Arabic Language and Literature on the occasion of opening such scientific activity. He also thanked all the colleagues involved, praying to God for their success.
After that, the Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the faculty Dr. Abdulrahman Hassan Mahsne gave a speech in which he pointed out that the Department of Arabic Language was always keen on reading the literary, linguistic and critical projects, in the framework of its specialization and overwhelmed by its responsibility. He added that the Department was seeking to take advantage of the valuable potentialities of 50 members of the teaching staff from various Arabic language specializations. He indicated that the department, through holding such debates, endeavors to draw a path, in which the teachers would develop the intellectual, literary, and critical reading in a collaborative work that enhances the spirit of construction and integration of knowledge.
Dr. Al-Mahsne clarified that the department has chosen in this session a dialectical project, which represented an important milestone in the march of thought, literature and criticism at the level of the Arab world. The project was about Prof. Abdullah Mohammed Alghzami, the Professor of Criticism and Theory at King Saud University in Riyadh, whose project a number of professors in the department sought to read, in addition to the graduate studies students in the department who took the opportunity to present their views about that project. Then, there were many sessions including 11 scientific papers to read Prof. Abdullah Alghzami's intellectual and critical project. They are: Alghzami's Machismo, Forms of manifestation of the layout, Alghzami's anatomical, theoretical condition..Answer application, Layout traps, Simi text fossils in insidious pattern, Alghzami is a tweetrical model, Poetry and prevailing cultural patterns, a reading in the book "cultural criticism" for Alghzami, problematic of critical dependency carefree for the civilized one, Alghzami from literary to the housing market – domination of the religious speech and the project worries, Alghzami's transfer from literary criticism to the cultural criticism, a reading in the book "The Tale of Modernity", Alghzami's reading in Al-Gahez book, "the Stick" , Alghzami's relationship to heritage, and problematic approach in cultural criticism.
The sessions were moderated by: Dr. Ahmed Al-Meraa, Dr. Zafer Kanani, Dr. Ahmed Altijani. It is noteworthy that the project came within the activities of committee of seminars and conferences, and within the activities of the teaching staff of Arabic Language and Literature Department. Moreover, the project adopted a series of scientific debates, and was heading towards reading the project on the local and Arab levels, so that it could enhance the idea of the project on one hand, and to read the completed projects on the other hand. The forum intended to read Alghzami's project as a controversial project, and had a lot of discussions over the decades. So, the Department of Arabic Language moved to start with Alghzami's project in the department's scientific debate, through studies conducted by a number of specialists and those interested in that, as well as certificates provided by professors who used to be students for Alghzami to complete the picture, about the project and its owner.
