Sponsored by HRH Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Asir, King Khalid University is very pleased to announce its seventh annual sponsorship of the Health Education and Awareness program in the Bariq province. The purpose of the program is to promote the good health and well-being of our citizens through healthcare education and awareness. As a major medical and healthcare educational institution in the region, the university is well suited for providing these services to the surrounding communities. The program runs from the 7th of Jumādā Al-Ūlā the 2nd of Jumādá Al-Ākhirah.

 

University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, explained that the program presenters are a a group of highly qualified university faculty and staff, who are graciously dedicating their time and expertise to this cause. He further explained that this annual health program supports the university's objective of supporting public welfare goals and providing valuable services to individuals in and around the region. Of note, the program will include an extensive week of medical services and awareness activities from the 5th to the 9th of Jumādá Al-Ākhirah. The Rector said 'partnering with government agencies and private institutions to enhance public well-being has been and will continue to be an important role for King Khalid University'.

 

The program includes a wide variety of seminars and related events. The university, in conjunction with a number of government health care institutions, will host a number of training courses and health exhibitions. There are medical and dental services provided to the public via mobile clinics. The mobile pharmacy is distributing medicaments and healthcare products to those in need. The mobile clinics have the support of the appropriate laboratory and radiological facilities as required. A number of volunteers from the Medical City are participating by offering consultation services at the health centers. A great number of public health displays, literary exhibitions, and poetry readings are also included throughout the program.

 

Vice Rector of Academic Development and Quality, Deputy General Supervisor of the Program, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani, said that the program will utilize the skills of many university professionals including representatives of:

 

  • The Faculty of Dentistry;
  • The College of Medicine;
  • The Deanship of Admissions and Registration;
  • The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences;
  • The Faculty of Languages & Translation;
  • The College of Nursing;
  • The Deanship of Community Service;
  • Medical City.

 

Vice Rector Al-Shahrani expressed his deep appreciation for all of their efforts in supporting this important program.

 

Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel said that the program aims to raise awareness of health issues and help prioritize healthcare efforts. He noted that partnering with community stakeholders and providers is an important means of improving the health of the citizenry. Raising awareness and a focus on health is of great benefit to the community and to the Kingdom. He further noted that another primary objective is helping those in distress or need with acute healthcare issues.

 

The Deanship of Academic Quality focused on the cultural aspects of health by conducting two training programs. The first program, titled 'Managing Priorities for the Administrative and Educational Leadership in the Province', were presented by the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hajri, in conjunction with Governor of Bariq and heads of centers and a number of administrative, educational and security leaders in the region. The training session focused on healthcare prioritization and delivery systems management models and best practices.

 

The second training program, titled 'Total Quality Management in Education', was presented by Vice Dean for Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Said Saad Hadi. The purpose of this course was to show the many participants how the concept of quality management and assurance applies to general educational endeavors, including medical science and healthcare. Dr. Hadi also reviewed the Ministry of Education's ongoing efforts to establish and operate a general total quality management (TQM) agency within its agency. He explained that this quality initiative is an important part of the Kingdom's overall development plan and Vision 2030.

 

The university is proud to continue the successes this healthcare program has achieved over the past six years. Program milestones can be summarized as follows:

 

  • Phase 1 – 18,563 individuals served;
  • Phase 2 – Outreach extended to Tathleeth treating 15,239;
  • Phase 3 – 26,292 individuals served;
  • Phase 4 – 57,646 individuals served;
  • Phase 5 – 37,678 individuals served.

 

Of note, ancillary programs that ran concurrently with each phase have benefitted an additional 36,500 individuals. The university looks forward to many years of future service for the benefit of the public and the Kingdom.

The Intellectual Awareness Unit in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Senior Scholars is hosting Sheikh Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Manea as part of the visiting scholar initiative program on the 20th of Rabīʿ Al-Awwal. The purpose of King Khalid University’s Islamic Values Program is to embrace and encourage a moderate approach in all aspects of civic life. Also, the program calls for rejection of extremist views and considers radical teachings counter-productive and void ab initio.

Deputy Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit, Dr. Misfer bin Ahmed Al-Wadie, explained that the program involves a series of meetings and forums with senior scholars in Saudi Arabia. Their role is to enhance and support scholarly endeavors while refuting false or misleading statements and accusations being propagated on various forms of social media.

This is the fourth in a series of meetings which aims to highlight the role of scholars and also:

  • Bolster the status of scholars;
  • Compare sources of acceptance in the life of young people;
  • Advise on the legal approach to deal with misleading accusations;
  • Highlight the dangers of atheism to people of faith.

On behalf of King Khalid University, King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, congratulated the Saudi Government and people on the 88th Saudi National Day, which commemorated the pivotal role the nation's founder, the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, led in uniting this great country that we call home. "For generations, our country has achieved continuous success and has stood firm and united in the face of dangers," said Al-Solamy.

 

His Excellency commented that we are living in a unique era driven by the vision of His Royal Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, which is characterized by a relentless drive to build a better, brighter, bolder future through peace and prosperity.

At King Khalid University's 20th graduation ceremony, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, congratulated King Khalid University students on graduating, wishing them great success in their future endeavors to contribute to the growth of our country. Upon his arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Faleh Al-Solamy, a number of high-profile officials from the Asir region, and the University Council. The ceremony was opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran and a procession of graduating students.

 

In his speech, Rector Al-Solamy welcomed His Royal Highness, honored guests, and parents of students. "We at King Khalid University will remember this night as a remarkable night. You are fortunate to have a noble leader and a country you can be proud of. Congratulations on what you have achieved and the honor you have brought to your families, the university, and the country," said Al-Solamy. He concluded his opening statement by asking Allah to protect the success and safety of our country, our King, and our Crown Prince. Rector Al-Solamy then directed a powerful message to the graduates saying: "Our country has provided all that you need, and it is now your turn to dedicate yourselves to our country -- for you are the future. Know that our enemies are expanding, so unite together against those envious of us because we are fortunate to have a country, unlike any other country that boasts a wise, youthful leadership."

 

The Rector concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid, who continues to care for and support the university on all occasions. Shortly after, the audience watched a short film entitled 'The Helmet Story'. This highly acclaimed student success story from the College of Engineering highlighted the grave difficulties the student encountered, the burning ambition, and will to succeed he possessed during his journey.

Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, announced the overall result of this year's graduation statistics which included 14,047 students from various degrees, colleges, and specialties, noting that 49 students were from doctoral programs, 241 from graduate programs, 12,095 from undergraduate programs, and 1,662 from diploma programs.

 

Dean Algarni concluded his speech with three messages: (i) reminding the students on what their parents have done for them and how they should care for them and reward them, (ii) their loyalty to the University which has provided the best programs and worked towards accreditation and development to ensure they receive the best education, and (iii) their role in achieving Vision 2030.

 

At the end of the program, the graduates presented a recital entitled 'Land of Goodness' that received large cheers from the crows. Towards the end, His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy presented a commemorative appreciation plaque to the HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid who announced the graduation of the university's 20th class.

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, conveyed his sincerest congratulations to Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Crown Prince on the occasion of his appointment by the Royal.

 

Rector Al-Solamy said on the occasion, "On behalf of all the employees of King Khalid University, we pledge allegiance to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud upon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of our Messenger - Peace Be Upon Him."

 

Rector Al-Solamy asserted that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has worked wisely to build the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the future, which will bring prosperity to the country and raise the Kingdom's status and prestige at the international level. He further added that Vision 2030 sharpens the focus of the country's efforts in developing its resources and exploring new resources to support the Kingdom's national economy.

 

Rector Al-Solamy: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has worked wisely to build the Kingdom via Vision 2030.

 

In a statement on the occasion, Rector Al-Solamy said that His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is the best successor to the former Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz. Earlier, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz made significant efforts in various fields, served his country, and contributed to its progress. When His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz was the Crown Prince, there were many achievements, the most prominent was expanding security, especially in the field of fighting terrorism and uprooting it from the source. Rector Al-Solamy further asked Allah Almighty to preserve the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to enable the Kingdom and its people to achieve development and prosperity under his wise leadership.

 

For his part, King Khalid University Vice Rector, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hassoun, expressed his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the occasion of the pledge to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the Crown Prince and his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister.

 

Vice Rector Al-Hassoon: The wise Royal Orders of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques aimed at pumping fresh blood to continue the task and achieve the goal and aspirations of the government and the people

 

Vice Rector Al-Hassoon said on this occasion, "If we look deeply at what is happening around us in the Arab world today, we will have to pray and thank Allah sincerely. Clearly, the land of the Two Holy Mosques enjoys stability and reassurance on all political, economic, and social levels. All due to the clear and transparent policy followed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques."

 

Vice Rector Al-Hassoon explained that HRH Crown Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud graduated from HRM King Salman's school of thought and was impressed by the leadership of the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud. The evidence on that is his work and ideas, despite the short period. Al-Hassoun pointed out that the allegiance to HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the flexibility of the transition are an accurate indicator of the social cohesion in the Kingdom and wise leadership.

 

On this remarkable occasion, Vice Rector of Academic and Educational Affairs, Dr. Saad Du'ajim, congratulated the pledge to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister.

 

Vice Rector Du'ajim said, "I pledge allegiance to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, upon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of our Messenger - Peace Be Upon Him - in hardship and ease."

 

He also congratulated His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the confidence entrusted to him by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques by appointing His Royal Highness to be the Crown Prince and appointing him as Deputy Prime Minister and continuing as Minister of Defense. He asked God to help him to serve his religion, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Homeland. Vice Rector Du'ajim added that the choice of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Crown Prince is an excellent choice as he is a leader who has points of view and loyalty that are all in the interest of the country and the people. Furthermore, all of his stances are designed to meet the challenges, achieve the aspirations, keep pace with the changes, and work hard in the next stage according to the Kingdom's plan for the future through Vision 2030.

 

Vice Rector Du'ajim further noted the great efforts exerted by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz during his tenure as the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior to achieve security and protect the homeland.

 

In turn, Vice Rector of Graduate Studies, Dr. Majid Al-Harbi, said that the selection of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense indicates the profound vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He further asserted that this is especially notable after the numerous successes achieved by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

 

Vice Rector Al-Harbi asserted that HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is the best assistant to the King. Thus we congratulate His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and pledge allegiance, asking God to help him to perform his duties.

 

Vice Rector Al-Harbi also thanked His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz for all he has done in service of Islam, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the homeland in addition to the outstanding efforts he made during his tenure as the Crown Prince, which history will mention in glory.
