His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, sponsored, yesterday evening, the events of the closing ceremony of student activities, and its accompanying exhibition. The venue of the occasion was at the University City in Abha. The occasion which was hosted by the Deanship of Student Affairs, was attended by a number of agents and employees of the university.

Upon his arrival, President Al Dawood opened the exhibition of Student Activity Club, which contained a number of pavilions and which included 30 clubs in number; centralized clubs and colleges' clubs. President Al Dawood also signed, during the tour, a cooperation agreement between King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, and the Takamol Initiative for legal aid. The University was represented at the signing by the Dean of student Affairs, Dr. Meraa Al-Habash, while the initiative was represented by the Head of the Saudi law training Centre, lawyer Dr. Majid Garoub.

The idea of the agreement centered on training 50 students from the Faculty of Sharia and the Law Department at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences who are expected to graduate by 200 hours for every student, in order to contribute to the high level of professionalism in the fields of law and forensic science, as well as in the field of labor issues and personal status of students.

After that, there was a show in which a number of university students presented a theatrical performance about the role of student activities at the university. This was followed by a visual presentation in which the students talked about the genesis of the Student Activities at the university, about what it presented last year in the field of activating the role of the students, and about the achievements and the effective community services that were provided. Then, a number of students made a chanting section in which they talked about how the students were proud of their university and their homeland.

On his turn, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Meraa Al-Habash, gave a word in which he welcomed the President of the university and the guests, thanking them for their attendance, and noting that the deanship, since the reception ceremony for fresh students at the beginning of the year, to bid farewell to the graduates, had presented many activities, through which the Deanship achieved some of the hopes of the university. He said, "we have taken important steps to achieve two key goals; firstly, to accommodate the students, and to provide access to a variety of activities to the largest number of them, and secondly, the formation of the student leaders, and the instilling of confidence in them through training and empowerment, so that we are, thankfully, proud of them." Dr. Al-Habash added, "The continued support of the university in general, and particularly the unlimited support and confidence of its President, give us all the necessary tools for the belief in the importance of our role in the educational and academic process."

The ceremony witnessed crowning student activities clubs. In the first place, Computer College Club won the crown of the clubs and came in the first place, and it obtained a SR 20,000 prize. The second place went to the Club of the Faculty of Sharia and the fundamentals of Islam, which got a SR 15,000 prize. The third place got a cash prize of SR 10,000. Regarding the central clubs, the first place went to Volunteer Work Club while the second place was achieved by calligraphy and Art Club.

For his part, President Al Dawood, in his speech, expressed his pride in what the Deanship of Student Affairs has offered through Student activities. The President said, "Thanks and appreciation to the officials on what they have made, including the planning, the implementation and the encouragement to their children, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, as well as the agencies and departments of the University." He added, "thanks to all who participated in the success of the student activities of various employees of the university, and I congratulate the winners of activity prize, and wish success for those who are not lucky this year, that they achieve the highest positions in the coming years." At the end of the ceremony, the Rector of the University honored a number of successful partners who have contributed to the success of the student activity, including media professionals in the area and the employees of the university. The event was concluded by a draw on the grand prize - a car, which was presented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in addition to many prizes that have been drawn by the students.
