On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal, Emir of the Asir Region, the Deputy Governor of the region, Mohammed Al-Jarais, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between King Khalid University and the Human Rights Commission branch in the region. The signing took place at the Emirate headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Sulami, and His Excellency the Vice President of the Commission, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Khayyal.
The University was represented in signing the agreement by the Vice President for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdulatif Al-Hadithi, while the Commission was represented by the Director General of its Asir branch, Bandar bin Ali Al-Olayan.
His Excellency the University President expressed his gratitude to the Emir of the region for his directives and continuous support in achieving greater cooperation, coordination, and integration between the University and various entities across all fields, enhancing each entity’s role in fulfilling its responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and directives.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdulatif Al-Hadithi explained that the agreement includes several areas of cooperation, such as participation in programs, events, and activities; delivering lectures and awareness sessions on human rights and other areas of mutual interest; organizing joint training courses in human rights and family safety and security; promoting a culture of human rights; integrating its values into activities; implementing awareness programs; proposing educational plans and initiatives; and organizing events that enhance human rights awareness.
The agreement also includes the University’s participation in regional and international events to highlight the Kingdom’s efforts in human rights through activities organized by the Commission at the University’s venues, in addition to exchanging information, statistics, reports, and publications, and benefiting from both parties’ capabilities to exchange experts and specialists in accordance with relevant regulations.
