The University Rector and Colleagues Congratulate the 21st Graduating Class

His Royal Highness, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir Region, will preside over the university graduation ceremony next Monday. This will be the 21st graduating class of King Khalid University in which 13,450 students will receive their respective degrees. The ceremony will be held at the Prince Sultan Sports City facility in Mahala. 

 

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, is looking forward to joining His Royal Highness in celebrating our students' accomplishments. Rector Al-Solamy has, on behalf of the entire university community, offered his advance congratulations to everyone in the graduating class for a job well done. The Rector acknowledged that attending university is not easy. Of course, getting a degree requires discipline, commitment and a lot of work. There are also many challenges, frustrations, and occasional setbacks. His Excellency commended all of the soon to be graduates for their perseverance in the face of difficulties great and small. The Rector noted that 'our graduates represent the future of the Kingdom and everyone in the community has high expectations for our alumnae in both their professional and civic affairs'.

The Rector further explained that everyone in this graduating class represents a substantial investment by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. Our nation's leaders are committed to providing world-class higher education throughout the Kingdom. The government helps develop each graduate's professional acumen as well as a sense of civic duty to Islam and commitment to national well-being. The Kingdom is counting on each one of the 13,450 graduates to play a role in developing Saudi Arabia's national economy while preserving its religion and culture.

 

King Khalid University Vice President, Dr. Mohammed Bin Ali Al-Hassoun, remarked 'At this time each year we are privileged to celebrate the graduation of another group of our cherished students. We are also grateful to His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, for joining us in this celebration and anointing the 21st graduating class with the privileges of their degrees. We are so proud of each new graduate's accomplishments. We wish all of our new alumnae great success, peace and prosperity in the future. This occasion marks the end of one episode in life's great journey and the beginning of another. Our graduates should remain mindful that learning is a life-long process, and a pathway to joy and wisdom'.

 

Vice Rector of Academic and Educational Affairs, Dr. Saad Du'ajim, congratulated the entire graduating class and their families. 'Your journey was long and arduous. But through hard work, diligence and support from your families, you prevailed'. Vice Rector Du'ajim noted that the university degree is but one block in the educational structure that makes a career. He also instructed the graduates to harness their skills and creativity to master even greater challenges in the world beyond the university.

 

Vice President of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amri, congratulated the class of 2019, and thanked His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz for leading the graduation ceremony. He said to the graduates, 'Always remember that Allah was with you through all of your struggles and accomplishments. Take care to serve Allah as he has served you. Remember to be true to your family, your community and to the Kingdom. We wish you a blessed Ramadan, and much success in the future'.

 

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah expressed his pleasure at seeing another group of students graduate. He congratulated all of the graduates for their achievement and thanked their families for supporting the students through this difficult journey. He instructed the soon to be graduates 'Always remember the values imparted to you by the university: Honesty, responsibility, patience, cooperation and diligence. Our society looks to you as a key player in fulfilling the goals set forth in Vision 2030'.

 

Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Khuloud Abu Malha congratulated all of the students on their momentous accomplishment. She thanked His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz for his patronage of the university. She also thanked the families of the graduates for entrusting the university with the education of their children. 'We are most elated to celebrate this 21st graduation. Educating the next generation is an awesome responsibility which we on the faculty take very seriously. We are so proud of our new graduates, and we wish them the best in their roles as professionals, keepers of the faith and upstanding citizens' she said. 

 

Dean of Admissions, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, congratulated the graduating class and thanked their families for supporting the effort. He provided the vital statistics on the class of 2019. The new graduates represent 29 colleges and more than 80 different academic programs. There will be 11,358 bachelors degrees awarded, while 1,588 graduates will receive associates diplomas. 'Our nation will succeed thanks in no small part to the talents and efforts of young people including our new graduates. The Kingdom will be a model of sustainable development, and we hope our graduates will assume leadership positions in these endeavors' he remarked.

 

Dean of the Deanship of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al-Faea, said that the university's mission is to help our country's sons and daughters develop into highly productive members of society and upstanding citizens. Of course, each academic degree program is designed to give the students the knowledge, skills and confidence to successfully pursue a profession or vocation. The Deanship of Graduate Studies is heavily involved with those students who choose to pursue advanced degrees at KKU. Dr. Al-Faea said 'Our goal is to provide a world-class academic and research environment that allows for the development, expansion and operation of graduate programs that meet or exceed international quality standards in every metric. These bright, young students will play a vital role in national development and achieving the goals set forth in Vision 2030'.

 

Dr. Al-Faea also noted that the university has made great progress with academic development at the graduate and post-graduate levels. Currently, there are 62 advanced degree programs available at King Khalid University in various, scientific, health and humanities fields. There are 48 master's level degree programs and 14 doctorate programs. This year the university will award 478 master's degrees and 49 doctorate degrees in various disciplines.
